Mouse and mice control

Mouse Control and Mice Removal in San Francisco

Mice get in through gaps most people would never call a hole. We find them, seal them and trap what is already inside, without poison.

Why mice are a sealing problem, not a trapping problem

A mouse fits through an opening about the size of a dime, roughly a quarter inch. That is smaller than the gap under many garage doors, the space around a dryer vent, or the notch where a pipe passes through a cabinet. A house that is sealed against rats can still be open to mice, which is why a mouse job means going back over the building at a finer scale.

Mice also behave differently. They nest closer to food, breed quickly, and stay in a small range, often a single room or run of cabinets, so the signs show up in kitchens and pantries rather than only in the attic or crawl space. A few droppings behind a toaster usually means a nest within a short distance of it.

The method does not change: find how they are getting in, close it with material they cannot chew, then trap the mice already inside and clean up what they left. No poison at any step, so nothing dies inside a wall and nothing gets passed on to a pet or an owl.

FAQ

Mouse Control questions

How small a gap can a mouse get through?

About a quarter inch, roughly the size of a dime. Young mice fit through less. That is why mouse proofing takes a closer inspection than rat proofing: the openings that matter are small enough to look like nothing.

Is one mouse a sign of more?

Usually. Mice breed quickly and nest near a food source, so a single mouse in a kitchen often means a nest nearby. The inspection looks for droppings, gnaw marks and nesting material to work out how established they are.

Do you use poison for mice?

No. We are poison free for mice as well as rats. Poisoned mice die in wall voids and cabinets, and the bait can travel to pets and wildlife. We trap instead, so you know what has been removed.

How is this different from your rat service?

The method is the same but the scale is finer. Mice use smaller openings and nest closer to food, so sealing takes longer and trap placement is different. Many homes have both, and one inspection covers both.
